September 7, 2004 Public Hearing

Clarion Borough Council

September 7, 2004, Public Hearing

The Clarion Borough Council held a Public Hearing on September 7, 2004, at 6:45 p.m. in the Assembly Room of the Clarion Free Library, the purpose of the hearing was to receive public comments regarding a request by Mr. Curtis Wray for the vacation of two unopened alleys located between Wilson Avenue and Grand Avenue in the Heidrick Plan of Lots adopted by the Borough of Clarion on September 26, 1906.

A list of those people in attendance is attached to the Official File Copy of these minutes.

Ms. Vavrek, Chairman of the Housing and Zoning Committee, called the hearing to order at 6:45 p.m.

Ms. Vavrek announced Mr. Curt Wray, Knox, Pennsylvania, has petitioned Clarion Borough Council for the vacation or abandonment of two unopened alleys located between Wilson Avenue and Grand Avenue in the Heidrick Plan of Lots.   Mr. Wray is requesting a vacation of a 16-foot wide alley known as Whitehill Place extending approximately 300 feet in a northerly direction from its intersection with the north line of Corbett Street to the south line of an unnamed, unopened east-west alley, which Mr. Wray is also requesting the abandonment of, which extends approximately 316 feet from the east line of Wilson Avenue to the west line of Grand Avenue.   Essentially this is a continuation of a vacation request approved a couple of meetings ago by Brian Acey.   Mr. Wray is not present but asked for any questions.

Mr. Ragon stated Mr. Wray received notification to be present at the Public Hearing.

President Wilshire inquired if Mr. Wray has all his necessary paperwork.

Mr. Ragon stated yes.   The only thing Council will need to do is require Mr. Wray to pay all costs involved with this vacation request.

Ms. Vavrek noted that will be part of the motion.

Hearing no other questions, Ms. Vavrek adjourned the Public Hearing at 6:48 p.m., with action to be taken at the Council Meeting.
